Mildred Simmons

Mildred E. "Pat" Simmons, 86, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born April 18, 1923, in Galion, she was the daughter of Gail and Myrtle Carlock Patterson. Pat was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She was formerly employed as a secretary with the Salvation Army, St. Mark's Lutheran Church and First English Lutheran Church. Pat also volunteered her time at the front desk of MedCentral Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Simmons, whom she married December 7, 1945; three children, Bill Simmons of Chicago, IL, Pat Smith and Gary Simmons, both of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Natalie and Dan Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church with additional visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Rev. Paul Larson will be conducting the services. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church Building Fund, First English Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or the Malawi Orphan Project.
