
Naomi Irene Jacobs, 98, of Mansfield, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at her residence. Born January 23, 1912 in Mansfield she was the daughter of Ray and Edna Shoemaker Kennedy. In 1929 she graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. An area homemaker, Naomi raised eleven children and worked on the family farm. She loved nature including gardening and animals and enjoyed reading old Westerns. Naomi's main focus was always on her children and grandchildren and she touched the lives of everyone that knew her.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Joan Curtis Cook, Norma Jean Roger Shaull, Peggy Jane George Carver, Jack Robert Judy Jacobs, Richard Alan Patti Jacobs, Kenneth Lee Kathy Jacobs, Franklin Gayle Norma Jacobs, Donald E. Jacobs and Loraine Boisvert, Karen Sue Jacobs, and Sally Ann Tom Sedlacek; 16 grandchildren, Kristina Cook, Loretta Lonnie Bowen, Philip Ruth Shaull, Suzanne Rick Smith, Jeff Kelly Carver, Jimmy Carver, Jerry Carver, Janie Carver, Kevin Jennifer Jacobs, Jennifer Aaron Croskey, Jason Kristin Jacobs, Rachael Joe Burns, Luke Amy Jacobs, Brian Misti Jacobs, Ryan Tani-Ka Jacobs, and Scott Adria Jacobs; step grandson, Adam Grogg; 29 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald B. Jacobs; son, Gerald Ray Jacobs; brother, Jack E. Kennedy, and sister, Thelma Blocker.
Friends may call Friday, October 29, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. A Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park conducted by Dr. Johnny Heckard. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or the Richland County Humane Society.
