
Naomi Winifred Reid, 78, of Ashland, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at MedCentral Mansfield. Born August 22, 1929, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of William B. and Ruth B. Hamilton Blank. A 1947 graduate of Mansfield Senior High, she and her husband, Elbert, had owned and operated the Olivesburg General Store for over 20 years and ran the Olivesburg Auction. She was currently employed in the medical records department at Kingston of Ashland where she has worked for the past 22 years, having been Employee of the Year in 2003. Mrs. Reid was a member of the Ashland VFW and had a great interest in antiques. She enjoyed the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indians and the Pittsburg Steelers. She raced cars at the old Olivesburg racetrack and loved to bowl.
Surviving are a son, David Teri Reid; a daughter, Paula Reid all of Ashland; four grandchildren, Dan Reid, Jamey Reid, Kori Reid and Rhett Reid; one great grandson, Logan Andrew Clippinger; and three sisters, Margaret Sal Medrano of Texas, Mildred George Grubbs of Mansfield and Thelma Scherer of Bellville; a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and good friends; and close friends, Tommy and Rhonda Shoup, Dylan Shoup, Andy and Valarie Hicks and Nikki Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert S. Reid, on April 10, 2001; a grandson, David R. Reid; three sisters, Elaine Silver, Margene Kelly and Joanne Barnes.
A gathering for family and friends will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Private burial will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
