

Neal F. Meadows, 85, formerly of 371 Bell St., died Monday evening, February 21, 2005 after an extended illness. Born September 18, 1919, in Morral, Ohio, he was the son of Franklin D. and Minnie J. Neal Meadows. An area resident his entire life, he retired from Ohio Brass where he worked as a press operator and had formerly worked at Dominion Electric. He was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion Post #16. Neal was a veteran of WWII serving 5 years with the U.S. Army in Normandy and France. He enjoyed gardening, roses and growing his famous tomatoes that were always extra tall. He loved spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Lynn and Ronald Laughlin, Karen and David Payne, Mary Jo and Denny Isch, all of Mansfield; a granddaughter and her husband, Angela and Patrick Boardman of Jacksonville, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Sean Boardman of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Irene Moser of Michigan and Catherine Altman of Lexington; a brother, Walter Meadows of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda J. Irons Meadows; brother, Rev. Wayne Meadows; and sister, Avonelle Meadows.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, February 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Ben Roby. Military graveside services will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Cardington. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or First Christian Church. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice of NCO and Crystal Care Companions.
