

Neva "Jean" Strawbridge, 87, of Mansfield, died January 29, 2015. Born May 19, 1927 in Vermilion, she was the daughter of Gladys and Robert Edmonds. Jean was adopted by Ervin "Vern" Fackler at a young age, and both her fathers were a part of her life. She grew up and went to school in Fremont, Ohio. She traveled back and forth from Fremont to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. During this time, she often worked as an Elevator Operator for William, Taylor and Company. In 1962, Jean got married and settled down in Cleveland to start a family. In 1980, she moved to Crestline, where she lived rurally for the rest of her life. Jean was a member of Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church.
Jean was an amazing roller skater and loved to bowl, embroider, and loved sharing pictures of her children, grandchildren, and cats. Buttons and Callie were among her two favorite furry friends.
Surviving are her daughters, Barb (Bob) Blanton of Lucas, OH and Margo (Larry) Brooks of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Laura Blanton (Krystal White), Kristen Blanton (Tyler Reece), Kelcie Blanton, Jessica Blanton, Kelleigh Brooks, Steven Brooks, and Andrew Brooks; great-granddaughters, Cheznie Reece and Harper Blanton-White; sister, Nancy (Brad) Butcher of Jupiter, FL; and two special cousins, Bob (Carolyn) Dean and Tom (Dorothy) Dean.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and adoptive father and four siblings, Barbara Martin, Donna Seaman, Lester Heinz, and Milt Heinz.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Willoughby Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Stop the Over Population of Pets, 1152 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44907.
