
Norma L. Thompson, 66, of 1041 Belmont Ave. died Thursday afternoon, March 1, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield after an extended illness. Mrs. Thompson was born March 10, 1934 in Portsmouth, Ohio living in the Mansfield area most of her life. She retired from General Motors after 21 years. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed drawing and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She was a beautiful, compassionate, loving person with a heart of gold.
She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Thompson; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie & Dr. Rodney Betts of Findlay; four grandchildren, Derek, Tiffany, Micah, and Leah Betts, all of Findlay; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Wilma & Charles Brown of Lexington, Jean Fiskin of Mansfield, and Betty Walker of Ontario; and a special friend, Tinker Toy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar B. & Maude Griffith Slusher; and two brothers, Ted and Gerald Slusher.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Glenn R. Coats. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Online guest registry at www.wappner.com.
