
Perry J. Silvey, 79, of Columbus, died Saturday, February 10, 2007, at his residence. Born September 18, 1927, in Seymour, Missouri he was the son of Clinton and Vina Hooten Silvey. Living most of his life in Mansfield, Mr. Silvey retired from OSR MANCI where he was an orchard manager. Prior to that, he had worked for Martin Steel, had established his own construction company and worked for Sears. In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Phillip and Anita Silvey of Columbus and
Carl Silvey of Mt. Vernon; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Daniel Duvall of Orlando, FL; a step-son and his wife, Donald and Patti Kareff of Mansfield; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews in Missouri and his dear friends at church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Linda N. Kareff Silvey; his parents; three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2007, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 16.
