
Phyllis A. Cochran, 69, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 7, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born September 15, 1940 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Charlotte Waldman and Dean Beckel. She was a graduate of St. Peter's Catholic High School. Phyllis retired from AVI where she was the cook and manager and had previously worked at Old Country Buffet. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and also worked at the school as a cook. She was a member of the Sons of Herman, AMVETS, Moose and V.F.W. Phyllis enjoyed volunteering her time at Kingwood Center, was a master craftsman and seamstress, being especially fond of creating pillows, blankets and fabric paintings for her grandchildren. She also donated her crafts to many children through the Moose and Amvets. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and spending time with them brought great joy to Phyllis.
She is survived by three children, Kelly Gregg Tetting of Milwaukee, WI, Nanette Rocky Kopina of Omaha, NE and Kevin Cochran of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, Amanda Brian, Jordan, Gabrielle, Julie, Philip, Peter, Kateri, Jack, Sophia and Magdalen; two great-grandchildren, Desarae and Angel; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield with a Vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
