Ray Staten

Ray Donovan Staten, age 80, of 481 McPherson St. died March 22, 2000 at Woodlawn Nursing Home after a long illness.  Mr. Staten was born May 31, 1919 in Coaltion, Ohio and has been a Mansfield resident since 1941.  He worked at Hoover Universal and he retired from the Mansfield News Journal. Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Rae Staten, at home and Pamela Kay Stein of Norwalk, Ohio; three grandchildren, Richard James Stein of Plymouth, Ohio, Vanessa and Randy Grosswiler of Norwalk, Ohio, and Linda and James Barnthouse of Shelby, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, William Donovan Stein, Ty Michael Grosswiler, both of Norwalk, Ohio, James and Robert Barnthouse of Shelby, Ohio, Jesie and Dillon Stein of Willard, Ohio; two nieces and five nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice E. Staten; his father Charlie Staten, his mother Mildred Ables  and his step-father, Paul Ables. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Sunday, March 26, 2000 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will also be at the Diamond St. Home on Monday, March 27th at 10:30 am conducted by Pastor Nate Rhodes, Pastor of Four Corners Church of God.  Burial will be at Mansfield Cemetery.
