
Rich Rick Buchanan went to be with his Lord on March 28, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 29, 1967 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Walter and Ruth nee Daugherty Buchanan. He lived in Ohio almost all of his life.
He is survived by his sons, Matthew and Doug Buchanan, both of Ashland, as well as his two grandchildren, Addison and Bryce Buchanan, and a granddaughter that is expected to be born in July, along with several nieces and nephews including his special buddy Mason. He is also survived by his brothers, Chet Brenda Coffman of Savannah and Bill Buchanan of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a brother, Marty Coffman. He resided with his friends, Gary, Cindi and Tyler Mathys. He will be deeply missed by everyone.
Rich was a bowling alley mechanic and had previously worked for Luray Lanes and King Lanes. Recently he was employed doing maintenance work for Mike Fulk. Rich truly loved the outdoors, fishing and camping. Watching races of all kinds and reading were his hobbies. He was a member of a Home Bible Fellowship of EastGate Bible Church.
A celebration of Rich's life will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1 p.m. at EastGate Bible Church, 179 Holbrook, Ashland, Ohio with Pastor Jim Norris officiating. A private family burial service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for expenses. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Rich Buchanan.
