
Robert Edward Adkins, 51, of Mansfield died Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Robert went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born January 20, 1957 to Henry and Sarah Shoffer Adkins. He served with the United States Army and was employed by WCI until it closed. Robert later was employed at the Mansfield Correctional Facility. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and singing karaoke with his family. Robert was a member of Wyandotte Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Debra Klupp Adkins; brothers, Clinton Scott and Clyde "Sonny" Adkins; sisters, Judith Adkins, Darlene Adkins and Lila Kinnison.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert & Jenny Adkins; four grandchildren, Austin, Samantha, Kylee and Cereniti Adkins; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn & Bob Simmons, Sandra & Anthony Christo, Linda & Allen Bartram, Arlene & Roy Duncan and Betty Jo & Ed Crose; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry Dean & Mary Adkins and Bernie & Loretta Adkins; one brother-in-law, Beecher Adkins all of Mansfield. Robert had thirteen nieces, thirteen nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday May 13, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Pastor Brian Phillips. Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will be held in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
