
Robert Fletcher, 82, of Mansfield, died Saturday, December 16, 2006, at the Ohio Veteran's Home. Born April 17, 1924, in Mansfield, he was the son of Carl and Mary Proper Fletcher. He graduated from Madison High School in 1942 and was self-employed as a truck driver. He was a member of Venus Masonic Lodge #152, F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of Columbus, Shriner's Club in Columbus, American Legion Post #16, VFW Post #9943, Amvets Post #26 and Eagles Post #336. Robert was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marines with the 4th Marine Division.
Surviving are three brothers, Richard Fletcher of Lexington, William Fletcher of Republic and Thomas Fletcher of Mansfield; four sisters, Norma Bowers of North Port, FL, Marjorie West of Galion, Judith Smith of Milan and Susan Kanz of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Wilkinson Fletcher, son, Jerry Lee, parents, brother, Jack Fletcher, and sister, Geraldine Logan.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with Rector Emeritus David S. Sipes officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service with 40 et 8 services at 7:15 p.m.
