Robert Gage

Robert D. Gage, 74, of Rose Garden Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon, Ohio died Friday morning November 12, 1999 at Knox Community Hospital after an extended illness.  Mr. Gage was born June 2, 1925 in Mansfield living in the area most of his life.  He was a heavy equipment operator for Gage Construction Company and a member of First Christian Church.  Mr. Gage was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by two daughters, Audrey Hursh of Columbus and Gayle Sasser of Grand Forks, North Dakota; one granddaughter; two sisters, Sandra Hayden of Houston, Texas and Jenemarie Lemke of Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother-in-law, Mark Menke Jr. of Mansfield; two sisters-in-law, Beth Gage of Mansfield and Ellen Gage of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Scroff Gage; his parents, Adam & Helen Boleratz Gage; three brothers, William, Sherman and Spencer Gage; and a sister, Caroll Menke. Graveside services will be held Tuesday November 16, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Mark Menke.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield Memorial Homes or Rose Garden Nursing Home of Mt. Vernon, Ohio.  Wappner Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
