

Robert was born February 25, 1942, in Salem, Ohio, to Robert E. Sr. and Jewel (Woods) King. He had been a resident of Ashland his entire life.
After attending Ashland High School, Robert went on to proudly serve in the United States Army. He was an active member of AA for 36 years. Robert previously worked at Landoll Printing and retired from Book Masters Printing in 2006. He enjoyed attending his church, Temple Baptist. Robert also enjoyed visits from his special friend, Ted, who would come to The Good Shepherd and read to him from the Bible.
Robert was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed sharing stories of the cars and motorcycles he used to have in his younger years. Robert deeply adored each and every one of his family members. He is survived by some very special friends who visited him often at The Good Shepherd where he had resided since April of 2016.
Robert is survived by two daughters, Robin (Thomas) Wilson and Staci (Bill) Gray, both of Ashland; four grandsons, Kevin (Brandi) Hyatt, Kyle Hyatt, Ryan Gray and Jacob Gray, all of Ashland; and two great-grandchildren, Landon and Peyton Hyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three infant children, Teresa Lynn, Kevin Scott and Mary Ellen.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 10, 2016, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jim Mitchell will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Ashland, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to The Good Shepherd and the staff for the excellent care they provided during Robert's stay with them.
