
Robert F. Kuhn, 82, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Monday evening, August 11, 2008 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born May 12, 1926 in Mansfield, he was the son of the late Charles Nyal and Gladys Sheely Kuhn. He was formerly employed as a mechanic at Crestview Local Schools with his strong work ethic keeping Crestview school buses in top shape. He was also a farmer and had been the owner and operator of R.F. Kuhn and sons. Being a service oriented person, Robert was one of the founding fathers of the Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. and served many years on the Richland County Fair Board. Mr. Kuhn was an active member of Richland Church of the Brethren, serving as deacon and enjoyed his greeter duties where his hugs will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Witmer McKean Kuhn; four sons, Michael Rosemary Kuhn and Jerry L. Kuhn, all of Mansfield, Larry Connie Kuhn of Shelby, and Gregory F. Kuhn of Bucyrus; four stepchildren, Sue Robert Dupré of Lawrenceville, NJ, George L. Sonnie McKean of Shelby, Diane John Bailey and Jan Rex Kuhn, all of Mansfield; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Leatha Kuhn; brothers, Charles and Everett Kuhn; and granddaughter, Rachel McKean.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 14 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Jim Rowsey will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron Children's Hospital or Richland Church of the Brethren.
