

Robert G. "Gene" Logan, 89, of Mansfield, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield after a lengthy illness. Born May 2, 1922 in Lexington, he was the son of Lee and Maude (Myers) Logan. A 1939 Lexington High School graduate, Gene joined the U.S. Army and fought at the Battle of the Bulge with the 11th Armored Division. He was a member at First Christian Church and was the founder and owner of G & L Supply which he started in 1952 where he truly enjoyed working up until his mid-80's. Gene also enjoyed traveling to Naples, Florida every winter and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Esther (Donnan) Logan of Mansfield; children, Christine Peaslee of Mansfield and Dave (Vicki) of Powell, OH; grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Dials and Mike Mayfield, both of Lexington, Kimberly Logan of Chicago, and Timothy Logan of Dublin, OH; and great grandchildren, Alexis and Jack Dials. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Larence Peaslee.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Chris Whitehead. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
