

Robert H. "Bob" Queen, 66, of Ontario, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield following a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 3, 1946 in Mansfield, he was the son of Harold and Lovene (Pocock) Queen.
He graduated from Northmor High School in 1965 and had previously owned and operated Queen's Auto Service and Ryder Truck Rental and was named National Dealer of the Year in 1978 for Ryder Truck Rental, and later retired from Columbia Gas after 30 years. His love of street rods and drag racing was highlighted by winning the title "King Pontiac" at the 2000 Pontiac Nationals at Norwalk Raceway Park and enjoyed listening to the oldies from the 1950's and 60's. He was a member of the Ontario Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diana Queen; a son, Steven (Kimberly) Queen of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Barb Queen of Williamsport, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Diane (Craig) Irwin of Mansfield, David Queen of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister-in-law, Pat (Tom) Parsons, nephew and niece, Brad (Sara) Parsons and Tammy Campbell all of Shelby; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Harold Queen, his mother and step father, Lovene (Queen) and Richard Ruhl; and a brother, Don Queen.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by his nephew, Brad Parsons with additional calling hours one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
