
Robert E. 'Bob' Rush, Sr., 88, of 1139 Marlette Road died Thursday evening, April 18, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. Mr. Rush was born March 3, 1914 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area all of his life. He retired from Westinghouse Corporation in 1974 after 38 years of service. He was a rock lather and with his sons built several homes in Richland County. Mr. Rush was a member of the Eagles and Neighborhood Watch. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
He is survived by four sons and a daughter-in-law, William E. Rush and his friend Phyllis Brady of Dayton, Ohio, Robert L. Rush of Elkton, Virginia, John A. & Mary Rush of Mansfield and Kenneth H. Rush and his friend, Peggy Moore of Oklahoma; three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Roy & Virginia McPeek of California, Robert & Sandra McPeek of Ashland, Ohio and Dave & Sharon McPeek of Mansfield; a stepdaughter, Trudy McPeek of Toledo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Orie A. & Bernice Rush of Mansfield; a sister, Wilma J. Palmer of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Mary Rush of Mansfield; his first wife, Betty J. Long Rush Gray of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orlo J & Lottie Fay Camp Rush; his wife, Francis Baker McPeek Rush; five sisters, Gracie Hyman, Goldie Mowers, Hazel Chambers, Pearl Logan and Myrtle Simmers; and three brothers, William, Clyde and Wayne Rush.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Jack Hackworth. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
