

Robert H. Walker, 76, of Mansfield, died Tuesday evening June 7, 2005 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a short illness. Born August 17, 1928 in South Viena, he was the son of Carl and Elizabeth Davey Walker. He was a member of the McElroy Rd. Church of Christ. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1946. Mr. Walker was a pattern maker for 17 years at the Zirkle Pattern Works before opening his own pattern shop from January 1967 to January 1985. In 1985, he moved to Mansfield to work as a pattern maker for General Motors until his retirement. He was an avid golfer with five hole-in-ones to his credit; four in Springfield and one at Mohican Hills.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. 'Dottie' Stalder Walker, whom he married March 10, 1951; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Linda Walker of West Chester, Ohio; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Jean Walker; three grandchildren, David, Alicia, and Kaitlyn Walker; one special grandson, Nicholas Caleb Christus; one special niece, Nancy Tribe Chapman, to whom they opened their home to after the death of her parents; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son in 1961; and one sister, Evelyn 'Sis' Bennett.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2005 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may also call one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Monday June 13 at the McElroy Rd. Church of Christ with John A. Wilson and William L. Secrist officiating. Burial will follow in Caesarea Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the parking lot fund of McElroy Rd. Church of Christ.
