Roberta A. Becker Madden, 88, of Mansfield, passed away Friday afternoon, August 29, 2014. She was born December 5, 1925 in Mansfield to the late Marguerite Ruby Lemley and Robert S. Lemley, a former mayor of Mansfield.
Roberta worked at the family business, Lemley Cleaners for many years, then she went on to work for Reed's Department Store and United Telephone. She loved crafts and made many acrylic paintings throughout the years. Roberta was a former member of Grace Brethren Church. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, held every office available and formed a new chapter, Kappa Phi.
She is survived by a son, Randy (Kathi) Becker of CA; three grandchildren, John (Sheena) Phillips of VA, Aimee (Ben) Grinnell and Ben (Kristi) Phillips, both of MI; three great-grandchildren, Lilee, Max and Rowan; and a daughter-in-law, Jeannie (Tom) Phillips of MI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Becker; second husband, Ira Madden; and son, Jeffrey Becker.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 until the time of the service in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Rohi John Michael Bissell will conduct the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
