Roger Hinton

Roger Darrell Hinton, Jr., 41, of Mansfield, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born November 1, 1971 in Mansfield, he was the son of Roger D. Hinton, Sr. and Virginia Faye (Barker) Hinton.

He was formerly employed as a fisherman in Washington State and Alaska and was honored for saving a life while fishing. He enjoyed music, playing guitar and singing but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his parents, Roger Sr. and Virginia Hinton of Mansfield; a daughter, Nicole M. Hinton-Ball of Toledo, OH; three sons, Codie Hinton and his fiancee, Hazel, Corie Hinton and Camron Hinton all of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Lakendrick Ball, Chantelle Ball, Carmen Hinton and Corie Hinton, Jr.; two brothers, Tim Hinton and Shane Hinton both of Mansfield; two nephews, Timothy John and Seth Allen Hinton; and his paternal grandmother, Lucy Hinton of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Estill Hinton and his maternal grandparents, Walter Barker and Cosy Barker.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Michael Rogers. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
