Ron Andrews

Ron Andrews, 68, of Mansfield, passed away Monday morning, November 16, 2015, at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland, Ohio. He was born September 8, 1947, in Mansfield, Ohio, the only son of the late Frederick Maurice Andrews and Genevieve Ruth Riggs Andrews.

He retired from General Motors after 22 years of service. Prior to that, he worked at National Seating until they closed and had also worked at Amstutz Auto Parts. Ron was a very caring person with a huge heart and was most happy in the company of his family, sharing his excellent cooking skills. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed photography. He earned his pilot license and also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Deborah "Deb" Adkins Andrews; one son, Ronald (Tracy Lynne) Andrews, Jr. of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Maggie and Tara Andrews; three siblings, Tammie Andrews, Kathy Zediker and Judy Moore; brothers-in-law, Rodney (Jodi) Robertson and Robert (Elaine) Robertson; sister-in-law, Amy Robertson; several nieces and nephews; and special buddy, Jimmy Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Beth Andrews; sister, Sandra Munro; and brothers-in-law, Jim Moore, Roy Stanley, Dick Zediker and Ron Vance.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
