

Born February 5, 1947 in Clintwood, Virginia he was the son of Auldie and Leanora (Scarberry) Fleming. A longtime resident of Shelby, he was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge both in Shelby. A fun loving but quiet man, he enjoyed NASCAR and going to races, fishing and watching sports but his greatest enjoyment was when he was spending time with his family, especially during the holidays.
He is survived by two sisters, Lois Rose and Mary (Orville) Stewart all of Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends at the Shelby Moose and VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Valfred, Alfred and Tommy Fleming; a sister, Beatrice Swindall; and a nephew, Gary Swindall.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by his great nephew, Pastor Aaron Rose. Military graveside services conducted by the United States Army will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
