

Rose Mary Hiles Woodrow, 86, of Mansfield, Ohio died unexpectedly Saturday, February 27, 2016 of a stroke. Born in Tiffin, Ohio June 12, 1929 to Cecelia Ruth Ward Hiles and Edgar Noah Hiles, she was the youngest of their four children. She was a 1947 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and attended Bowling Green State University. Following high school, she married the late Jack Derror, and was a homemaker and mother to their two children. Later she worked for some years as an interior designer for McCready's Furniture, and enjoyed volunteering at MedCentral Hospital. Enjoying nature and the outdoors, she became an accomplished archer and skier early in life. She married William Woodrow in 1973, with whom she enjoyed playing tennis and sailing. Together they sailed as members of the Mansfield Sailing Club on Clearfork Lake, and she loved "crewing" for her husband Bill during races. She loved to travel with friends and family and was always found collecting rocks and seashells. She enjoyed playing cards and board games with friends, and most of all her grandchildren. She will be forever loved, forever remembered and forever missed in the hearts of all those who held her dear.
She is survived by her loving husband William Woodrow; daughter, Kristy (David) Damron; son, Randall (Beth) Derror; step-son, William (Linda) Woodrow and their daughter, Amanda; step-son, Paul (Kristina) Woodrow; step-daughter, Diana Woodrow; granddaughter, Nicole (David) Liebner; grandson, Brant (Sarah) Hamel; granddaughter, Francine (Hod) Makbili; and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at First Congregational Church, 640 Millsboro Road, Mansfield conducted by Rev. Bruce Haapalainen. A short social time to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, First Congregational Church or Mansfield Sailing Club.
