

Rosie Cross, 91, of Mansfield, died August 5, 2014 at her home. Born August 17, 1922 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Anthony and Agnes (Colaianni) DiCross. An energetic, fun loving lady, Rosie always greeted everyone with a smile, hug, and kiss. She always wanted to be a part of everyone's life and loved staying busy. She was a talented crocheter and crafter who enjoyed playing cards and loved to cook. In 1988, she took her first plane ride to Disney World, where Mickey became her best friend. Disney became one of her favorite Florida destinations.
As one of the first residents of the Friend Group Home, she was a member of that family for 51 years. Rosie also spent many of her adult years working and playing at Richland Newhope. She was an active member of Mansfield Baptist Temple who loved going to church. For her 90th birthday, a party was held for Rosie at the Mansfield Carrousel and over 100 people attended.
Surviving are her sister, Anna Martin of Toledo and special cousin, Jeanette Leach of Mt. Gilead.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Emma Bachelder.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Services will be held at 3:30, conducted by John Garcia and Mark White. A private burial will be held at a later date in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
