Ruben Sorg, 90, of Mansfield, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at his home. Born December 26, 1919 in Mansfield, he was the son of Bela and Philippine Fischer Sorg. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Ruben retired from Westinghouse as a group leader. He was a member of Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Gilliom Sorg; two sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph Sorg of Mansfield, and Andrew and Rebecca Sorg of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Ariana, Esther, River, and Asa; and one sister, Irene First of Ft. Myers, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judith Hyman, Ruth Hughes, and Esther Jane Warga; and one brother, Benjamin Sorg.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Joseph Puglia. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
