Ruth Shasky

Ruth Ellen 'Ozie' Shasky, 91, of Mansfield died early Friday morning, August 8, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. She was born September 29, 1911 in Morrow County to William E. and Sarah Crissinger Fisher. On December 22, 1928, she married Harold Shasky who preceded her in death on June 18, 1990 after celebrating 62 years of marriage. Ruth retired from F.W. Woolworth after 23 years of service. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #47, Women of Moose. She was a sweet, kind, loving, caring, thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She is survived by eleven children and their spouses, Harold Jr. and Virginia Shasky, Kenneth E. and Hannah Shasky, and Connie R. Price, all of Mansfield, Delores M. McCready of Lucas, Juanita C. and Charles Williams of Arizona, Douglas A. and Cindy Shasky of Mansfield, Gloria J. and Dan Crum of Perrysville, Ronald K. and Betty Shasky, Larry R. and Penny Shasky, and Linda D. Roush and her companion, Dave Cline, all of Mansfield and Saundra R. and Randy Roush of Lexington; thirty-one grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; one step-grandson; eight step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; and good friends, Bud and Alice Arter of Mansfield. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bob McCready; six brothers; three sisters; a grandson, Kenneth Shasky; and her parents.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, August 10 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. and also one hour prior to funeral services, conducted by Pastor Howard Burnett, will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
