Ruth Elizabeth York

Ruth Elizabeth York, 55, went home to be with the Lord, on the morning of Sunday, May 27, 2018.  Elizabeth was born on February 23, 1963 in Mansfield, Ohio.  She was the daughter of Eulis and Anna (Sword) Rhea.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Crestview High School.  She was employed as a phlebotomist at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, and was previously employed as a dental assistant with Dr. Glen’s office.  Elizabeth loved her children and grandchildren, and they were her world.  She was a devoted Christian and faithful in her walk with Christ.  She was a member of Mansfield Church of Christ.  Elizabeth loved to travel and to cook.  Patient, kind, and loving are all words that describe Elizabeth, she had a wonderful sense of humor and outlook on life.

She is survived by her children, Cassie Long, Jerry “Bud” Fliger, and Jason Fliger; grandchildren, Gauge, Trevor, Aaron “A.J”, Clinton, Bailey, Charlie, Rosie, and Gracie; brothers, Danny Rhea and Bernie (Diana) Rhea; and her mother, Anna Rhea.  She was preceded in death by her father, Eulis Rhea; and her husband, Richard York.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Mansfield Church of Christ, 248 North Brookwood Way at 1:00 pm., with an hour prior visitation from 12:00-1:00 pm.  Pastor Tim Briggs will officiate the service.  Burial in Western Reserve Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the family.  The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Elizabeth York.
