
Sarah A. Kershner, 74, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born February 22, 1934, in West Liberty, KY, she was the daughter of Leander and Minnie Prince Johnson. She sold cosmetics for Avon for 25 years, Jafra for 30 years, and enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. She was a very active member of Mayflower Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school. She was also a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, a volunteer with American Cancer Society, past member of American Legion Post #16, member of VFW 9943, and member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #17 for 35 years. She also helped with the Coats for Kids program and recycled Christmas card boxes into gift boxes for candy for the County Home. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone, and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia and Dan Hubert, Mansfield; sons, Russell and Jeane Adkins and Robert and Jaime Kershner, all of Mansfield, Diana and Joe Billotte, Shelby, and Pat Kershner, Mansfield; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Dean, Daytona Beach, FL, Anna Wade, Mansfield, Lexie St. John, Lexington, and Rose and Lee Ison, West Liberty, KY; sisters-in-law, Caralou Mitchell, Perrysville, Nellie Gongwer, Ashland, and Julie Johnson, West Liberty, KY; numerous nieces, nephews, family members and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Willard Adkins; second husband, Robert Kershner; four brothers, Carl, Vincent, Quenton, and Woodrow Johnson; two sisters Emma Day and an infant sister; and daughter Pam Humphrey.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, at the church, 548 N. McElroy Rd, Mansfield, officiated by Dr. Gary Wilson. Burial will follow at Windsor Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
