

She was born May 16, 1952 in Mansfield and was a graduate of Malabar High School and Mansfield General Hospital’s School of Nursing. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters degree in Education from Ashland University.
Sharon resided in Mansfield her entire life. She worked as a school nurse for Mansfield City Schools, and as a registered nurse at Mansfield General Hospital. She was a member of Mitchell Chapel A.M.E. Church. She enjoyed reading, collecting All God’s Children-African American figurines, and giving gifts to friends and family. Sharon will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Shirley Shoemake-Larkins of Mansfield, OH; three brothers, Jerome Shoemake (Yook-Jing Jung) of Mansfield, Tracy and Derrick Shoemake (April) of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Elizabeth Mobley and Paris G. Parson of Stone Mountain, GA and Senita Shoemake of Lithonia, GA; special uncle, Lawrence Parsons of Mansfield, OH; several aunts and uncles; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Kathy Davis and Barbara Martin of Mansfield, OH.
Friends and family may visit from 1-2 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, Ohio. A private funeral service for immediate family, special friends and parishioners of Mitchell Chapel will be conducted by Bishop Paul J. Pegues, III at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
