
Sophia E. Sabo, 89, of Mansfield, died early Sunday morning, April 29, 2007 surrounded by her family at MedCentral Hospital's ICU. Born August 9, 1917 in Akron, she was the daughter of Mathias and Susan Freund Pamer. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church on Illinois Avenue. Sophia was devoted to her Lord, loving Him with all her heart, mind, soul and spirit.
As an extension of her love for God, Sophia's life centered around her dedicated care and support of others, especially her family. She enjoyed traveling, church activities, and cooking, and was a blessing to many with her generous and encouraging heart.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her surviving son and daughter-in-law, Dean William and Linda Sabo of Phoenix; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Fred Mohr of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; Jacquie and David Wagner, and Paula and David Keiper, all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Stephanie and Renee Sabo, Karen Sabo and her husband, Steven Gerber; Jennifer Mohr and her husband, Alex Doroslovac; Greg Wagner and his wife, Cathy; Holly, Christopher, and Nathan Keiper; and four great-grandchildren. She has two surviving sisters and a brother-in-law, Susanne Pavkov and Helen and George Pavkov; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Betty Pamer; and brother-in-law Albert Betz and wife Margaret. She was preceded in death by her parents; devoted husband of 57 years, William 'Bill' Sabo; three sisters, Margaret Nagy, Irene Betz, and Emily Hill; and two brothers, Lawrence and George Pamer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Apostolic Christian Church on Illinois Avenue. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Avenue Apostolic Christian Church World Relief Fund.
