
Stephen W. Domka, 78, of Mansfield died early Friday morning, March 28, 2003 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home after a brief illness. Mr. Domka was born July 5, 1924 in Mansfield to Herman and Hazel Jones Domka and was an area resident all his life. He worked as a carpenter for many years. Stephen was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church on Illinois Avenue. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Marie Sabo Domka; two daughters, Carolyn Batten of Lexington and Eileen Van Patten of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick and Connie Domka of Mansfield and Daniel and MaryAnn Domka of Bellville; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Elaine Jones of Mansfield; two sisters, Rhea and Harold Beery of Smithville, Ohio and Caroline Beard of Mansfield; a half-sister, Helen Reeves of North Carolina; and a half-brother, William Domka of Galion. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marjorie Dawson and Rachael Rust.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, March 30 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services, conducted by the Illinois Avenue Apostolic Christian Church, will be held at the funeral home Monday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
