

Steven J. Barth, 80, of Mansfield, died Saturday morning November 6, 2004 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Born November 18, 1923 in North Dakota, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Barth. He retired from the Mansfield City Street Department. Mr. Barth was once a Boy Scout leader, president of the neighborhood watch and in his earlier life, he enjoyed flowers, gardening and woodwork.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Vickie Barth of Mansfield; three daughters, Sue Sammons, Brenda Cathers, and Debbie Hubbard; ten grandchildren, Phil Rhonda Cathers, Cindy Josh Rider, Dwayne Stacie Cathers, Keisha Jimmy Curry, Renee Barth, Matt, Cody, and Chandra Ison, all of Mansfield, Mark Amy Cathers of Mifflin, and Tina Sebastian Pryor of Bucyrus; 15 great grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Fred Jean Barth of North Dakota, and Bill JoAnn Barth of California; one sister, Millie Schlosser of Oregon; one uncle, Johnny Wilham of Mansfield; numerous nieces, nephews and great friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glandaween A. Cox Barth; parents; and two brothers, Leo and Hutz Barth.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday November 8, 2004 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
