Steven Hawkins Jr.

Steven B. Hawkins Jr., 24 of Mansfield, died Thursday, January 23, 2003 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Steven was born December 15, 1978 in Mansfield, the son of Steven and Carol Butler Hawkins Sr. He attended Madison High School, where he was active in the Welding Vocational Department, finishing top of his class. He was currently employed with Logan's Steak House. Steven enjoyed spending time with his friends; he loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed bowling, and was an avid video game player.

Surviving are his parents, two sisters, Ashley Hawkins and Ann-Marie Evans; nephew, Jahmez West; niece, Janasia Evans; two grandfathers, Robert and his spouse, Doralene Howard and Michael Bowman all of Mansfield; two great-grandmothers, Rachel Howard and Carrie Beans both of Mansfield; special friend, Maria Banny; and a host of aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ed Butler; two grandmothers, Clara Butler and Joyce Bowman; aunt, Donna Hatcher and an uncle, Durial Howard.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services, which will be held on Saturday February 1, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Elder John Davis. The family will receive friends at the Park Place, 191 Park Ave. W. immediately following services.
