Sylvia A. Higgins

Sylvia A. Higgins, 95, died September 27, 2015 at Country Meadow Care Center in Bellville. Born August 12, 1920 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of Roko and Mary (Spina) Turson. Sylvia graduated from Plymouth High School in 1938. She married Gerald F. Higgins on Octboer 27, 1940. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1997.

Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Alex Kendziorski) Saulters of Lakeland, FL and Janet Higgins of Mansfield; sister, Rosalie (Jim) Valentine; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Higgins; son-in-law, Michael Breuer; and siblings, Katherine Fisher, Barbara Thurston, Mary Mackey-Gibbs, Anne Hoover, Margaret Dalton, and John Turson.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Shenandoah Cemetery, conducted by Father Jeremy Miller. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, OH 44905 or the Alzheimer's Association, 780 Park Avenue West, Ontario, OH 44906.
