
Thomas Brown Holland, 88, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Woodside Village Care Center. Born March 28, 1923 in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the son of George E. and Helen Brown Holland. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and was an independent salesman for the commercial dry cleaning service. Thomas enjoyed cooking, puttering around the house and clowning around with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Francis Foster Holland; two step sons, Chuck Foster of Mansfield and Jim Judy Foster of Mr. Gilead; a step daughter, Beletha Larry Heiser of Mansfield; a niece, Patricia Jerry Lawrence of Mansfield; a nephew, Dan Stephanie Kreisher of Ontario; great nieces, Lindsey Kreisher and her fiancée, Mike Frankl of North Carolina, Aubrey Kreisher of Ontario, Alicia Tucker of Georgia and Emily Porter of Georgia; great nephews, Michael Meyers of Mansfield and Jerrard Tucker of North Carolina; three great great nieces and one great great nephew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Schampier Holland in 1982; a sister and brother-in-law Emily and David Kreisher; stepmother, Bernice Holland; and a step daughter-in-law, Bonnie Foster.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario conducted by Rev. Thomas Blair. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 1:00 ' 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Wednesday.
