The motto "I'm not here for a long time, just here for a good time" rang out from everything Todd did. Whether it was putting a smile of the face of a stranger; helping one of his what seemed like thousands of friends; teaching his sons how to be good leaders and great men; or a simple calming "scoot" or "putt" down a winding road with his wife on his motorcycle; the positive light that Todd had was seen by so many people.
The Carey family has lost a cornerstone in their lives. They want to remind everyone that Todd would have wanted the mourning and the tears to be kept to an absolute minimum, and replace all sorrow filled memories of him with a celebration of a life of a man that was called on to serve a higher purpose.
Born September 14, 1963 in Jacksonville, North Carolina, he was the son of Gene Edward Carey and Patricia Faulkner Bibb. Todd was employed by Tire Center Inc. as the service manager and was an avid motorcyclist. A kind hearted gentle giant, he loved all things fun and was a true family man.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Fugitt Carey; two sons, Nicholas Carey of Columbus and Zachary Carey of Lancaster; his father and step mother, Gene and Thelma Carey of St. Charles, Missouri; his mother, Patricia Bibb of Mansfield; two brothers, Gene (Shelly) Carey II of Mansfield and Noah Bibb of Columbus; and a sister, Vicky Whitehead of St. Charles, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Zoe White.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario.
