
Troy L. Cole, 79, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born May 20, 1930 in Soldier, Kentucky, he was the son of William and Virgie Dean Cole. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Very true to the Lord, Troy loved to play gospel music, as well as Bluegrass, and played with the Glory Bound Singers of Mansfield for over 20 years. He enjoyed attending the Breakfast Club at McDonald's on Trimble Rd. He also enjoyed spending the last 21 years in Florida during the winter months. Troy was always working around the house and taking walks. A great all around person, he was always giving guidance to his family. Troy was a wise man with sound advice that lived by example.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Price Cole; three daughters, Diana Teeters of Mansfield, Cheryl Labor of Mead, Oklahoma, and Delores Cole of Royse, Texas; four sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron and Judy Price, Glendon Mount, Michael and Audrey Mount, and Samuel and Angel Mount, all of Mansfield; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters and their spouses, Willard and Omega Cole, Martha Phillips, Eugene and June Cole, Edna and Ersel Carroll, Wade and Nancy Cole, and Clayton and Sharon Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon Owens; granddaughter, Stacy Martin; and brothers and sisters, Arthur Cole, Chester Cole, Anna Conn, Magdeline Blevins, and Waneda Cole.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Glenn Phillips and Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
