

Vernon F. Cline, 64, of Shiloh, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. He was born August 4, 1939 in Vinton County, Ohio to Belva Markin Cline and the late Lawrence Cline. Vernon was a Army National Guard veteran and a member of the Sons of Herman. Vernon was a welder for thirty-five years and welded for Alaskan Pipeline and also for pipelines in Saudi Arabia. He worked for Shafer Valve for twenty-three years before starting his own business, Cline Welding. He loved gardening vegetables and tending to his flowers. Vernon enjoyed old cars, Harleys and watching Ohio State and Cleveland Indians games. His family was the focal point of his life, he loved to be surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Vernon built and designed his home where he loved to watch the sunset every night.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Mary Knight Cline; mother, Belva Markin Cline of Ontario; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Kathy and Rodney Vanderpool of Savannah and Debra and Dean Parsons of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carolyn Cline of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Krystal and her husband Matt Willis, Spencer, Miles and Emily Parsons, Colleen Cline and grandchild on the way; two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Gerald and Ruth Cline of Ontario and Bernard and Faye Cline of Mission, Texas; and two sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda and Ray Miller of Knoxville, Tennessee and Loretta Cline of Bellville. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Mae Cline.
There will be a graveside service conducted by Rev. Faith Proietti, at Mansfield Cemetery Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 1 p.m. Friends may call one-hour prior to the service at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
