Vernon Williams, 79, of Mansfield, died Sunday afternoon, April 9, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born January 11, 1927, in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of Mount and Maudie Salsberry Williams. He was self-employed as a carpenter. Mr. Williams was a man who loved birds and listening to Frank Sinatra.
He is survived by his wife, Lotis Isaac Williams; five children, Vivian Williams, Velma Robert Bunce, all of Mansfield, Dana Moore, Terry Williams, both of Columbus, and Debra Knipp of Greenup, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren, Diane Branscomb, Caroline King, Keith King, Terry Williams, Shannon Williams, Katrina Knipp, Rusty Knipp, Zach Knipp, Jenny Savage, Eric Savage, Ashley Williams, and Farrah Copley; six great-grandchildren, Isaiah Savage, Evianna Savage, Kennedy King, Claudia King, Dillon Branscomb, and Dalton Branscomb; and six other great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Friday, April 14, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Just like Frank Sinatra sang, Vernon always lived his life his way.
