
Virginia R. Heiser, 89, of Mansfield, died Monday, February 20, 2006. Born October 28, 1916, in Perrysville, the daughter of Don L. and Sarah Verda Pealer Rimmer. A Mansfield area resident most of her life, she was the Executive Director of the March of Dimes. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Altrusa Club, Past President of the local A.A.R.P., Past President of Business and Professional Women, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging. When her children were attending school, Mrs. Heiser was very active in the P.T.O.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Charlene Heiser of Mansfield; daughter, Cathy Volpe of Columbus; five grandchildren, Stacey Howard Gaddis, Nicole Steve Zimmerman, Ben Kelly Davis, Elizabeth Volpe, and Joe Volpe; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Ally Zimmerman, Madeline Gaddis, and Ryan and Jacob Davis; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many beloved cousins and an aunt in Ona, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jennings F. Heiser, brother, Albert Rimmer and sister, Maxine Jack Slaybaugh.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, conducted by Rev. Charles Tobias. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
