
Wanda Blackwell, 72, of Ontario passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008, at her home. She is now at home with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Born May 19, 1936 in Slagle, Logan County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ecie Carroll Johnson. Wanda was an area homemaker her entire life. She was a devout Christian and very active member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church, involved as a Women's Missionary Director for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leon Blackwell; five children, Billie Steve Workman Offutt of Walton, KY, Kenny Workman of Phoenix, AZ, Kathy Workman of Columbus, Cecil Ray Cveta Workman of Mansfield and Debbie Branch of Ontario; two stepchildren, Cindy Tim Ling and Norval Kimberly Blackwell, all of Ontario; nine grandchildren; five step grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; eight step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Sue Dunn and Ernestine Elba Kirk, of Chapmanville, WV and Goldie Ora Miller of Ft. Mill, SC; two brothers, Johnny Carmel Johnson of Cow Creek, WV and Douglas Patricia Johnson of Mansfield; special friend, Linda Johnson; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Ann Workman; three sisters, Elsie Johnson, Athleen May and Hazel Sellards; and two brothers, Clyde Johnson, Jr. and Lester Eugene Johnson.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 30 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Lincoln Heights Baptist Church, 512 Stewart Road North, Mansfield, OH 44905.
