

Weldon Lee Lemon, 94, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, February 18, 2016 at Arbors at Mifflin. He was born January 9, 1922, in Mansfield, to the late Vaughn and Ethel (Miles) Lemon.
Weldon began his education in a one room school house known as St. James. He graduated from Madison High School and attended business college. Weldon joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served until 1946 during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged as Sergeant and received the Bronze Star. Following his discharge, he began working at Westinghouse Corp. and retired after 42 years of service.
Weldon was a kind and gentle man and was an avid woodworker, making furniture and toys. He presented these as gifts to family and friends throughout the years. He attended First English Lutheran Church his entire life.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine M. (Siegfried) Lemon; two daughters, Linda (Greg) Hughes and Lana (Paul) Conry, both of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Rachel (Marc) Caseman of Mansfield, Rev. Mike (Cory) Hughes of Lima, Ohio, and Katie (Jeromie) Garn of Mansfield; six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kylie Caseman, Brennen and Emelyn Hughes, Lily and Cory Garn; a sister, Martha Brune of Ashland, Ohio; and two nephews, Kenton (Sloane) Brune and Douglas (Rhonda) Brune. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ervin Brune, who was also his Army buddy.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the nurses, aides, and staff at Arbors at Mifflin and Harbor Light Hospice for the excellent care given to Weldon.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio, with Rev. Paul L. Larson officiating. Additional visitation will be held in the church Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Private burial will be held in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church.
