William Calhoun

William E. Calhoun, 62 of Mansfield died March 31, 2001 following a brief illness. He was born April 25, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio to Robert and Elizabeth Calhoun, and has been living in the Mansfield area since 1964. Bill was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Mansfield Optimist Club and was an avid OSU football fan. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, and was described by his family as loving, generous, funny, and always smiling.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Ruth McDonald Calhoun; two daughters and one son-in-law, Amy Calhoun of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sara and Joel Vargo of Houston, Texas; one brother, David Calhoun of Springfield, Ohio; his mother Elizabeth Calhoun of Springfield, Ohio; and many loving family members and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father Robert Calhoun.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday April 3, 2001 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday April 4, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church conducted by Dr. Roger Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the Noon Optimist Club or Med Central Hospice.
