

William L. Meeker, 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Crestwood Care Center of Shelby. He was born July 27, 1926 in Akron, Ohio. William was the son of the late Lawrence and Loretta (Keifer) Meeker.
William was a member of the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He retired at Mansfield Tire and Rubber and also Crestwood Care Center. William served in the United States Army during World War II. He was the state marble champ and enjoyed woodworking.
William is survived by his daughters; Kathleen (Dale) Bartter and Judy (Paul) Jordan; sons, Lawrence (Vicky) Meeker all of Mansfield and Robert (Paul) Meeker all of Massillon; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law, Bill Spognardi and Mike (Betty) Deimer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Jane Meeker in 1988; son, Richard James Meeker; brother, Robert Meeker; sister, Doris Butler; and sister-in-law, Rose Spognardi.
A private graveside service will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Crestwood Care Center Activity Fund, 225 West Main Street Shelby, Ohio 44875. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of William Meeker.
