

William T. "Billy" Salter, 59, of Mansfield, went home to be in the loving arms of the Lord on August 31, 2015. Born May 10, 1956 in Mansfield, he was the son of Robert Wayne and Dorothy Marie (Craig) Salter. Billy worked for Convey All Corporation as well as owning and operating Mansfield Mirror and Glass for five years and most recently worked for the Crane Center, under the owner and close friend, Dick Haight. He was a past Master of Venus Lodge 152, past Monarch at Baku Grotto, and past Commander of Sons of AmVets. In his free time, Billy was an avid golfer, having made two holes in one.
Surviving are his mother, Dorothy Marie Salter of Mansfield; brother, Robert V. Salter of Mansfield; sister, Debbie (Joe) Crose of Mansfield; nephews, Jeremy Parsons and Christopher Parsons; great nephews, Cameron Parsons and Mykah and Trentyn; great nieces, Bella Parsons and Bekkah Parsons; aunts, Marlyn (Harold) Hunt, Sandra (Charles) Kunze, and Gerry (Roger) Craig; cousin, Tanya (Andy) Fernandez; and special friends, Kelly Bays, Tom Magistro, and Julie and Gary Craft.
Along with his father, Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vaughn and Lorraine Salter; maternal grandparents, Robert and Bessie Craig; and special canine friends, Miss Ellie and Precious.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Mitchell Prater and Chaplain Dan Clouse. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
