December 16, 1943 – February 13, 2026
David Alan Brolsma, 82, of Marana, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, February 13, 2026. Born on December 16, 1943, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Walter and Agnes Brolsma, David’s journey took him from the East Coast to the desert Southwest. After graduating high school, he attended John Brown University before proudly serving in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado.
David built a successful career in Information Technology, notably within the automotive industry. Even after his initial retirement, his industrious spirit led him to American Airlines, where he enjoyed the hands-on nature of fueling aircraft and managing logistics.
Once fully retired, David became a pillar of his community. An avid golfer, he translated his love for the game into mentorship, coaching young athletes through First Tee in Tucson. He was also a fixture at the annual Cologuard Classic, where he delighted in sharing stories of his time behind the wheel for the pros—most notably the time he picked up Rory McIlroy from the airport.
David was a devoted resident of Tangerine Crossing, serving on the HOA board for many years. He was known as a man of deep conviction, guided by his values and steadfast in his beliefs. His heart for service also extended to the Pima Council on Aging, where he visited assisted living homes to advocate for and share vital healthcare information with seniors.
David found great joy in traveling, exploring the world with his beloved wife, Dianne. Their adventures took them from the crystal waters of the Caribbean and Hawaii to the rugged beauty of Alaska and the historic coasts of Italy and Spain.
While David was a loving husband and a wonderful father, his favorite title was Grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Dianne; his children, Alan (Mandy) Brolsma, Nancy (Peter) Hestevold, and Heather (Bill) Larkin; and his "bonus" children, Dana (Gregory) Islas, Dawn (Ron) Peck, Danielle (Hershel) Hillman, and Ted (Jennifer) Mankowski. He leaves behind the legacy of many cherished grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Agnes, and his brothers, Walter Jr. and Jack.
