Randall worked many years as a skilled machinist until his illness forced his retirement in 2009. In 2015, he left Ohio for a warmer climate in Arizona. He enjoyed fishing, old cars, and spending time with his family. Before his illness, he could be found outdoors hiking and visiting the Ohio State Parks; instilling a love of nature with his daughters.
