Barbara Claiborne

Barbara “Bobby” Ann Callaway Claiborne went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2013. She had valiantly battled a pre-leukemia blood disease for four & a half years, never giving in or slowing down unless there was no choice. She loved life, and above all her faith and her family.

Bobby married Clay in 1955 after graduating from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio. Together they reared 3 children while traveling across the country and the world as Clay was assigned to different posts during his military career. They settled in Kingsland in 1970. After Clay passed away and Bobby retired from Kingsland Insurance Agency, she was persuaded to move to Marble Falls in 2002. Bobby was an art major in college and creating beautiful works of art were her hobby, including painting, knitting, sewing, and machine embroidery. She loved traveling and never met a stranger. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who taught by example and love. Her love, caring spirit, and tremendous sense of humor will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Kasey) Buroker and son-in-law David, son Steven Claiborne and daughter-in-law Jody, son Tyrone Claiborne and daughter-in-law Jeannie, grandson Shaunn Claiborne and his wife Whitney, granddaughter Kasey Ann Claiborne and her fiancée Remy Hanes, granddaughter Mandy Claiborne Chevez and husband John, granddaughter Natalie Buroker Pineda and her husband Albert, grandson Jason Claiborne, and grandson Thomas Buroker.

Bobby is also survived by 4 wonderful great-grandchildren, Brady and Ella Claiborne, and Brayden and Brylan Chevez.

Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Marble Falls.

Memorial service will be Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marble Falls with Father Jairo Lopez officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home of Marble Falls.
