

Barney Gerald Grafa III (“Gerry”) passed away after a brief illness on December 31, 2012. Gerry was born on January 6, 1954 in San Angelo, Texas. Gerry spent his childhood in Midland, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Gerry later moved to Horseshoe Bay, Texas where he made his home and in 2001, married Sherri Hill. Gerry was an avid tennis player and golfer and member of the Horseshoe Bay Country Club. Gerry was the Men’s Tennis Champion at Horseshoe Bay Country Club eight consecutive years from 1997 to 2004. Gerry worked at the Marble Falls Picayune newspaper for 5 years. Gerry was also an active member of The Church at Horseshoe Bay.
Gerry was a loving husband and loyal friend and will be remembered by all who crossed his path as a kind and gentle Christian man.
Gerry was predeceased by his father and mother, Barney Grafa Jr. and Babe Grafa Brogniez. He is survived by his wife Sherri, and his sister, Ann Grafa Ferrell and her husband Larry as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at The Church at Horseshoe Bay. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Brent Smith, Bill Carrico, J.C. Williams, Ricardo Guillen, Gil Blount, Frank Byrd, Jim Hawkins. Honorary Pallbearers: Mark Ferrell, Ryan Atkinson, Keith Bedard, Jimmy Blair, Daniel Marrufo, Ramiro Urieta
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (www.michaeljfox.org) or the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas (dsact.com) in Gerry’s honor.
